-
Problem solving - Students will have to figure out how to build their animal habitats and enclosures.

-
Collaboration - Students will have to use ideas from their peers during the designing of their posters, evites and habitats. Students help each other if one is struggling to count any of the objects for the “how many?” questions.

-
Communication - Students will communicate their ideas during the brainstorming and building of their habitats, students will communicate where they want to hang their posters, students will need to communicate to see how many enclosures they need to make (maybe some animals can be in the same enclosure). Students will communicate if they disagree or agree with a group member. Students will need to properly communicate the amounts for the “how many?” questions and by talking on their videos to display their understanding.

-
Critical thinking - Students will need to think through their enclosures and the sizes, they will need to think about where to hang their posters and how to get the emails for the evites, and when to send them. Students will ask for help when needed. Students will have to access prior knowledge to decide the different kinds of food needed by different types of animals to be able to count them properly.

-
Creativity - Students will need to make changes and corrections to their habitats and enclosures. Students will create the posters, animals, and enclosures. Students will organize the information about their animals.

-
Information, media, and technology skills - Students will read, organize, and use information to create their animals, habitats, enclosures, and posters. Students will use media and technology skills to research their animals, use AR, and make their evites. Students will use their iPads to record videos and post these videos to SeeSaw.

-
Interdisciplinary themes (e.g. global issues, environment, conservation, etc.) - All students in the classroom and teacher will have a small discussion about what a zoo provides to the public. What do zoos do for the conservation of animals? The teacher will read a story regarding the conservation of animals. A story like, “Don't let them disappear, 12 endangered Species across the globe ” by Chelsea Clinton and “The Watcher, Jane Goodall’s Life with the Chimps” by Jeannette Winter.

-
Cross-disciplinary themes - Subjects like Math, English, Science, Art/Design will be utilized throughout the project. Math, students will use their counting skills and mathematical thinking skills. In English, students will use their reading, writing and speaking skills. With regards to Science, students will observe the animals and be able to classify them according to appearance. Art/Design, students will create posters and physical model enclosures.
